With our stakeholders we learn about shark fisheries data analysis as a capacity building process to support evidence-based conservation. In July 2019, we conducted two-day workshop for shark and ray data analysis. We collaborate with Syiah Kuala University (UNSYIAH) as a host, Marine and Provincial Fisheries Agency (DKP Aceh) and Marine Fisheries Management Unit (BPSPL Padang).

Trainers include Muhammad Ichsan and Benaya Simeon from WCS-IP and Adrian Damora from UNSYIAH. The participants include students from Universities (UNSYIAH, UTU and Abulyatama), NGOs (WCS enumerators, WWF and FFI), and Government officials (BPSPL Padang).

We learn about how important fisheries data for management from Muhammad Ichsan, Data Validation from Benaya Simeon and fish stock from Adrian Damora.
