Project Leader
Muhammad Ichsan
Ichsan, fell in love with manta ray when he first saw it in 2012 when he was participated in MantaWatch Internship program in Komodo National Park. He continues working as a dive-guide with Sharkdiving Indonesia in North Maluku. He continued his study for Conservation Biology at the University of Queensland Australia and received his Master degree in 2016. Ichsan joined Wildlife Conservation Society as a shark and ray officer. At the end of 2018, Ichsan received Zoological Society of London Segre’ EDGE Fellowship. In 2019, Ichsan join USAID SEA Project as Sustainable Fisheries Coordinator.

Communication Officer
Niomi Pridina
Niomi, did her first shark dive in Morotai for her research and graduated in 2015 from Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung. She was an communication officer at International Pole & Line Foundation (IPNLF) before move to MantaWatch as education coordinator based at Komodo National Park where she received her rescue diver certificate. She is also one of the 2016 Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Fellow from Indonesia. In 2018, she worked as policy officer in RARE Indonesia and a year later join Conservation International as Fisheries and Marine Protected Area (MPA) officer until now.

Field Officer
Herman
Herman found his passion for conservation since he studied in Universitas Abulyatama, Banda Aceh. Currently, he work at the local fisheries agency in South-west Aceh as a fisheries officer. He help the team to collect shark landing data and gathering social-economic information. He specialized in shark and ray species identification and capacity building for coastal community.
