Shark is under threat from various kinds of human activities, such as over-fishing, habitat destruction, illegal wildlife trade, which is changing the population and habitats. Advances in technology helps conservationists and scientists to better understand the species, their habitats, and the threats they face. To manage shark fisheries, understanding the species habitat and fishing ground is crucial for management. With the help of Global Fishing Watch (GFW) we are using a GPS based technology called TREKFish™ that using fishER™ (Fisheries Electronic Reporting) software to track fishing boat movement that fishing for pelagic thresher shark in the ocean.
